Crack in the Camera viewfinder without glasses, but no visible cracks with them. Is this a problem?
I have a film SLR, and recently without my glasses, I noticed there is a crack in the middle of the frame through the viewfinder, but when I put my glasses I can not see the crack. Is this a crack real on my camera or something in the side of the camera body?
Is it a right, horizontal crack? And do you wear glasses simply reading or do you full time to correct farsightedness? I ask these questions because my first thought is that you can see the split a prism focusing screen. Many, if not most older manual focus SLR used this system to develop. If this is not what we speak, it might actually be a crack in the focusing itself (you can see just above the mirror with the lens off) or possibly in the viewfinder pentaprism of / penta.
