Your NV-GS180 Camcorder is a MiniDV tape based. If you are trying to import video from miniDV tape to computer, the USB does not work. You need to install and use a Firewire 400 (IEEE1394a) port on your computer. Once this running, with a firewire (I. LINK) cable, MovieMaker can "capture" the video when the camcorder is in play / edit mode. Yes Firewire, IEEE1394a and Link I are the same thing. Firewire does not use specific device drivers.
