What camera should I get for 316 J photo paper?

I plan to take photography course 316 J Communication this coming semester at the University of Texas at Austin. What camera should I get from 316 J? I read the requirements for the course and said: "The Students must provide their own 35mm single lens reflex camera that can operate under manual mode and the evaporation chamber. "This call for a digital Slr Camera? I do not want to spend too much if you do not have to. any help would be great! thanks everyone!

It depends on who is teaching, but with Cameras most of the time the digital image transformation rules are nonexistent, and the assignments will come in all imaginable shades. movie mode and leave everything Manual for the student to compose, and schools to standardize treatment. You can find a Pentax K1000 good, the camera of choice for students and very reliable, and E-series Canon and Nikon F series. Today you can find on Craigslist in your local area, and look nice package with a flash unit, a pair of glasses, a couple hundred dollars or less. What to look for in cameras that can be more than 30-40 years old -? Cleaning factor (fingerprints on the mirror? dust too? inside? Shutter curtain looks bad, etc) – Stamps and Covers (Make sure the seals are not so old they have started cracking, and become sticky and rather dry to remain cardboardy and rubber) – Is it battery powered? (Some cameras have built lightmeters, but the owners have left little watch batteries for decades, make sure no spills). – In the lenses: Are there signs indicating obvious shock of a fall? Is the focus and the moving mechanism nice and smooth, or irregular -? Ask about mold problems in the lens (this will not be green, but as the dirt inside the lens of glass or surfaces that seem to disappear with a damp cloth simple H2O. Good luck, and click away!
