Analog portable digital recording solution?
I have an ancient Sony Ccd Video Camera pro-V200e. It works always good, but I was wondering if there is a digital recorder that I can connect to the video / audio output jacks of the video camera so that Instead of recording by the recorder 8mm (which is very bad quality) I can digitally record on the road and have no loss of quality. It should be small so that I can use while using the camera (eg in my pocket, etc.) I know it's a lot to ask wondering
I guess depends on the size of your pockets … The Archos AV 405 30 GB only (analog) as if you connect the Camcorder's AV-out to the AV-in, you should be able to register. Saying "No loss" will be a challenge – it is likely that there will be lots of compression – So the loss. standard definition DV uses about 14 GB of hard drive space per hour of video … I do not know what the Archos is in the way of compression.
