What is the little blue button on top of my Digital Slr Camera marked SSWF?
I just bought a used Olympus SLR and sometimes it will not show any sign of life at all except a little blue light on top that reads, "SSWF" below. So what is this light and why is it all that I can go to work and do not even know what that means? I feel pretty stupid, so be nice.
This a feature called Supersonic Wave Filter – he shakes the dust on the image sensor by using supersonic wave vibrations. Dust fell is affixed to a component of dust under the filter. This helps prevent you from dust or lint reactions (not sure plush, yet) appear on your image, and help save your sensor. It is not necessary to clean or change the components dust under normal use for several years. The dust collection system can easily handle the particles that are the result of dust reduction system. If the unit is used constantly in severe conditions, Olympus recommends that the body of the unit will be sent Olympus to an authorized repair service at about a three to five years. As part of the interview Olympus Camera photo service, the components of dust are being replaced.
