Diana + camera? I get it?
So I love photography. I know nothing about the technical aspect. I am a student of Fine Arts and in my senior year. "I can close up photos on the macro lens with a Kodak digital camera and to construct facilities in miniature and becomes part of my installation. I really enjoy it and although I do not read much in the picture, its pretty much like me and the camera and a knack of it (so I'm told) so my camera is now a bust and I was looking at the Digital Slr, etc. and in a magazine i saw Diana's "toy camera" + … i know its old and nothing like digital SLR, but I love old things! and when I read about it, and saw the kind of pictures it takes im in love! it is .. I was reading about Shutter speed and speed and at most .. and I am clueless. Do I need to know much about these things to run a Diana +? Also, when you finish the movie and want to replace it? Where? and I just got the photos developed as usual? thanks.
The Diana, now sold a camera is not old or ancient. Is basically overpriced camera, garbage, plastic toys. Nor have the manual exposure control. I think there are only two stops (actually not accurate, real f-stops) and you can not change the shutter speed. If you want a vintage Film Camera, you can find a better deal for many more cheap. I would recommend a harvest of 35 Mm SLR or rangefinder camera. You can find one in good condition for fairly cheap on eBay, antique stores, shops Second hand, Craigslist, etc Minolta made a lot of very good 35mm SLR. I have the Minolta SRT-101 and Minolta SR-1. Both are great Cameras. So you can think about one of them. If you want a really Old Camera with a clean retro look, then I would suggest the Argus C3. It is a very old camera, but are all metal, well made and very reliable. They are also full manual exposure (to adjust the shutter speed and F-stop) so you can be creative more with their photos. In addition, no double exposure prevention. You make the shot every time you take a photograph, and manually advance the film with a crowbar. So if you want, you can do double exposure effects. Here's a Wikipedia article on the Argus C3. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argus_C3 If you want to use the film 120, there are plenty of great cameras to take better pictures of a Diana or Holga. I suggest a folding camera or camera Twin Lens Reflex. For the same Price you would pay dearly for that plastic Diana Camera, you can find a very nice folding camera, a Zeiss Ikon Netter. Do not bother with the Holga or Diana. They are a scam. I do not know why every time someone thinks of a film camera now, just think of plastic "Lomography" cameras. If you want to get into film photography, then get a REAL movie camera. There are a million beautiful vintage movie cameras out there who will take great pictures. Just to give you an idea, here is my Yashica A. 'S double-Slr Camera lens. Uses 120 films roll. It is not plastic, which is made almost entirely of metal and has very sharp optics and awesome pictures. I bought it on eBay for less than it costs Diana at the Urban Outfitters website. Therefore, you have something … shitty camera, lomography plastic or film camera that takes real large images and costs less ??… http://www.flickr.com/photos/silverscape/3863415260/in/set-72157616703204253/
