Can you use a Digital camera as a manual device ole fashioned good to take a large black and white?

I found it quite difficult to take high quality photos with a Digital Camera. I think a good 35 Mm Camera takes amazing pictures, and a digital camera is just "good" photos. Whattaya think? Am I just doing something wrong? (PS.. I am not a professional photographer, and do not even know how to use a 35mm …. I'm just referring to pictures I've seen, not taken with a "good ole manual camera fashioned '! )

All very good answers, but something struck me in details if your question – you said you are not a pro and you ask this question in the context of casual photography … If you're talking 4×6 color photos you send to the laboratories, these images are printed by machines that throw the right color, and because taking digital photos usually milder, the images of the film need no sharpening. If you just take a camera, some models, especially the pro Digital Slr, leaving the image as original as possible, leaving all the editing to the person, which is the pro wants. However, to make a big prints ditital research requires an awareness of how to change the photo later and print correctly – without the two, you can not get images on rival. the reverse, the editing power given to it in the hands of the digital photographer than widely as possible with this film – once you give the impression to the laboratory, its out of your hands. You can crop, clone, color adjustment your digital image as you wish, allowing the person who spends time learning to edit digital images on the ability to work wonders on their image. You also mention in black and white. b traditional film photography black and white is usually the pervue professional photographers. If you want to do a digital film Comparison, I have first hand experience in both. I developed and printed my own images of 35mm for a bit More than a year, and made digital for three, I'm sure there are photographers more time, even under the belt was. What I find that when it comes to the final quality of printing, digital can not overcome the feeling and appearance of a fiber-based or even a copy of the RC film. Some textures of paper used for printing the film, I searched high and low for a digital equivalent and Hève never been satisifed. Some prints, some type of photography, both out on the movie, I'd be surprised if I wanted to get a similar result digital. Film has more latitude (may discern a greater amount of difference between the extremes of black and white extremes) than digital. But I that experience in rudimentary image manipulation in the darkroom. Dodging, burning, etc. .. everything just that much easier for me in the digital darkroom. I can get the results I could never do a film. So in the end, each has its advantages and disadvantages. I find any point view definitively concludes that a higher form is on the other is narrow and not taking into account individual strenth of each format.
