I mostly need a notebook … … applications intensive (Adobe Creative Suite Premium Two, Dreamweaver, FrontPage, etc) … to store music, photos and videos (well, video editing) … to play games … to connect to networks (wired or wireless) The notebook should have … Lots of hard disk space to store, personal issues and archives Multimedia … DVD recorder … plenty of memory (1 GB +) to run multiple intensive applications … If possible dedicated video memory – video editing … S-video output for connection to a TV … IEEE1394 (FireWire), so I can connect my video camera … Card reader so that you can download photos my camera … Ethernet / wireless so you can connect to the network costs as cheap as possible What do you recommend?
Apple MacBook Pro away! The MacBook Pro has been updated with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, along with more RAM and hard disk storage. I have the top model in the line of 17 inches, one thing beauty dressed in sleek aluminum. With only an inch thick, the MacBook Pro also remains one of the most lightweight and portable comes with a-15.4-inch widescreen. 5.6 pounds this notebook is excellent for use in the home or office, but is portable and Compact enough to take on the road. Using the MacBook Pro is a pleasure and did not take me long to fall in love with 17-inch display, whose brilliant treatment option is perfect for watching movies. The laptop comes with a connection infrared remote control six buttons, so you can enjoy movies from across the room. I like the MagSafe adapter which disconnects from the notebook if you trip over the cable. For this model, Apple added the MagSafe Airline Adapter, which uses the same concept, but connected to a port in the power seat ($ 59 option, not included). The MacBook Pro's illuminated keypad and motion sensor technology to protect the hard drive to help make this a solid choice for business travelers. The big improvement is the upgrade from 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo processor 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. Like the previous CPU, the Core 2 Duo has two processing cores, but now each chip has 4 MB shared L2 cache. This allows the cache Core 2 Duo to store more data by, for making fewer passes to the main memory. Speaking of memory, Apple computers have been weak RAM, standard configurations that paled next to their counterparts Windows, but Apple fixed that very well. The 2.33 GHz 15-inch MacBook Pro comes with 2 GB of 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM standard, double the previous version. I maximum system with 3 GB of RAM, an extra $ 575. That is too much for all but the most demanding power users like me – I have my home network it XP. I downloaded Free Mac BootCamp, which allows Macs to run Windows. http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/ productivity performance was decent. I suspect that this may be the fact that only uses a small partition of the MacBook Pro's hard drive (although you can configure it to use more) and boot camp is some overhead performance. Note that this now opens the MAC to the same malware attacks that are experiencing PC'ers. I ran MobileMark to prove the duration of the battery, the MacBook Pro's battery lasted 2 hours and 53 minutes with the Wi-Fi, compared with the average run time for laptops 3:41 conventional. I also made a short test DVD and have 2 hours and 58 minutes with Wi-Fi (compared with 3 hours and 5 minutes in the13.3 inch MacBook). This is a runtime decent considering the greater size of the screen, but the bottom line is that you should go with the slower (and cheaper) a 2.16 GHz processor for more resistance. Antenna wi-force that is supposed to already have a problem with high-end Apple laptop, but I noticed a weak signal with this MacBook Pro than with one of my other desktop Mac in the same place. Compared to my Toshiba laptop, the MacBook Pro was not too far with scores of 12.6 Mbps at 15 feet and 9.6 to 50 feet. ****************************************** TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS **************************** 15-inch MacBook Pro processor and option _______________________________________ memory of 2.16 GHz or 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo * 4 MB on-chip shared L2 cache running 1:1 with processor speed of 1 GB (single SO-DIMM) of PC2-5300) memory DDR2 667 MHz (2.16 GHz and 2 GB configuration * (two SO-DIMM) of 2.33-GHz configuration of two DIMM slots support up to 3GB of 667 MHz frontside bus * ******* ******************************* **************** * A FireWire 400 port expansion up to 400 Mbps * One FireWire 800 port up to 800 Mbps * Two 480-Mbps USB 2.0 ExpressCard/34 slot ****************************** ******************* Battery and * the power of 60 watt-hours Lithium-polymer battery (with integrated charge indicator LEDs) providing up to 5 hours of battery * 85W MagSafe Power Adapter with system management cable MagSafe Power Adapter Port ****************************************** *************** *** Communications * Built-in 54 Mbps AirPort Extreme wireless networking (802.11g standard, 802.11n capable with optional 802.11n enabler) * Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) * Built-in 10/100/1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet (RJ-45) ****************************** ******************** ************ * Audio Combined optical Digital input / line in (minijack) optical digital output / headphone out combined * (minijack) * Stereo speakers * Internal omnidirectional microphone (located under left speaker grille) ************************************* ****** *************** * Display 15.4-inch (diagonal) TFT display, compatible with millions of colors, optional glossy widescreen display * Resolution compatible: 1,440 by 900 (native), 1,280 by 800, 1,152 by 720, 1,024 by 640, and 800 by 500 with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 1,024 by 768, 800 by 600, and 640 by 480 with a 4:3 aspect ratio, 1,024 by 768, 800 by 600, and 640 by 480 at 4:3 aspect ratio stretched;
