I have a digital SLR camera and regular 6 Megapixel point and shoot, and I want to take infrared photos.
How can I take with Digital Cameras? I have an ordinary camera (Pentax K1000), but I would really like to avoid the hassle of processing infrared film. I'd rather not send my SLR camera and have altered Infrared Camera, because it is the only one I use. Is there any software (GASP) photo editor that can change your infrared photos?
Most digital cameras to a little in the spectrum infrared, but not anywhere close to the spectacular IR photography. To see if your device works in this series, have someone point a remote control TV for your camera while holding a button. your camera has any IR sensitiviy you see a bright point in the image. Now if just the expensive part: for about $ 150 you can get an IR filter – necessary because the IR light overwhelms normal light. After finding a way attach it to your P & S camera, you should be able to shoot IR-lapse of time. The results are really disappointing, because the camera has a very limited bandwidth in this range … a bit like taking pictures with a camera where only the red pixels of work.
