which is the best video capture software to download and use with Sony Digital Camcorder DCR HC30?
My first husband unpacked the handycam and now I do not know what cables, software and Manuals came with it or how to transfer videos to my PC! If you Please HELP!
camcorder comes with a USB cable and a CD-ROM that includes drivers (software Picture Package v1.0). It should also come with software applications for a guide that explains in detail what I say here and now. once you find the cdrom and cable .. 1. install software before connecting the camcorder to the computer. 2. connect one end of the cable to the USB port of your computer .. the other end your camcorder (that is the side you have the strap. you have to lift the lid) 3. Turn the camera 4. usb to flow from the standard> P-menu> PLY / EDT (if you want to transfer tapes) or USB-CAMERA (if you want to transfer in real time .. as for webcams). after setting that exit the menu 5. wait for the computer to recognize the camera and is ready to transfer after that, you can use the software camera to capture your videos. Personally, I do not use it because the features are very limited. you'd be better off using Windows Movie Maker. it is free with Windows XP. you did not mention if you use a Mac … if you are, USB will not work. you must purchase a FireWire cable for the camcorder and use iMovie to capture.
