Outdoor Digital Portrait Photography tips for a beginner!?
Im going to take some pictures of some people in our outfits for my hubby site. This will be done outside, with my regular digital camera, a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX9 … It has a zoom, and the options are somewhat Icon a flower, a heart, SCN, and the ordinary camera. So I know Im not professional, but Id like any advice you have pictures of people outside. What parameters, time of day, etc. Im under the hot sun AZ … advice or resources would be welcome! Thank you!
If your camera has a portrait mode to use it to blur the background. Look at things more on peoples heads as power lines, trees (branches of cactus). If someone wears glasses to watch the glare of the lens. Take pictures at dawn or dusk, not in the midday desert sun. Watch the sun pushed out of the metal surfaces that might be nearby. Even if it is sunny use flash to avoid harsh shadows and "raccoon eyes" effect. Avoid having your subjects facing the sun, so you can place them so that the sun is away from the group at an angle of 45 degrees or behind them-if the sun is behind you, the whole group will be blinking and not smiling. Most Take lots of pictures at different angles and different poses no group (use your imagination)
