they used this card at an ATM. I know they have Cameras @ ATMs. how long do they usually store images of people making transactions at ATMs?
Unless the police believe that the person who did this is part of a much more criminal it is unlikely that the police will really make much of an investigation. That said, a police report anyway … you'll need you to try to inflict empty your behalf with creditors. You should also contact the credit bureaus and put a fraud block on your social Security number, and make a copy of your report annualcreditreport.com (which is a free site that the government put in place, partly for this reason). Use the site to know how many accounts the thief may have put in place. From there, call and write letters (paper path allows it) by telling them that you never authorized the account. If you happen to have a bank with a program identity theft (such as identity theft Citibank Solutions), in contact with them, too.
