Is it better to repair or buy new? Dropped my Canon ELPH SD1200 in a lake.?
For a second slpit my camera had appeared under water while he was off. When I pulled it out I made the mistake of turning it on. But then I off quickly, it dries, left the memory chip and battery and let dry. I did not get home for an hour later (we were kayaking on an island), but when I did I put everything in a bowl of rice and go for a day. Then I put it back together and it works. Apart a wet spot on the screen, it shows pictures and menus and everything goes well. It can show videos perfectly (with sound) and I even tried flash. The only problem – it takes pictures in black, with patches of moisture. When I look at the lens it appears to have water inside ….. Is it useful to have it repaired? How much would it cost and do you know of any good places in Toronto I can take? Thank you! I love this unit and its only half a year!
