When using the digital TV converter box?
I have a Canon Powershot S5 Digital Camera, and a characteristic Digital TV converter is that I can get to 1.6 or 2.0. It digitally "converts" the lens as if it were a telephoto lens. I can also take a picture without the TV converter box while zooming in on the subject. Supposedly using the TV Converter Box reduces camera shake with a small opening, or something like that. I took pictures of the same with and without the converter TV and I can not tell the difference. My question is, when would I use the digital TV converter box -? To clarify the camera has optical zoom up to 12x and digital zoom up to 48x digital. The photos I took for testing were all in the zoom range. You Not sure why they offer this feature if it is not useful at some point?
I zoom digital culture is like a Photo Camera. Imagine taking a picture of your friend on the opposite side of the room. You can zoom with the lens to his face fills the frame or you can Just take the picture zoomed out, then chop all the edges off the photo to all that is left is his face. Obviously, this second option is not good and that is all digital zoom. The opening is at stake because you add more glass with extra lenses or even as you expand type zoom "lose" light. Since a digital zoom has nothing to do with the lens, you do not have this problem. But this is only stupid way to try to make you believe that the digital zoom is something he is not.
