Sony Handycam DCR-SR45 to reduce wind noise!?
I have a Sony Handycam DCR-SR45 and plan on using it in 20-30 mph winds tomorrow (well, today actually). It has been said on numerous websites that this camcorder has a "wind noise reduction," which I have yet find ways to activate. I looked through all the menus of the Camera, but to no avail. Is this feature only works when the "Microphone Zoom "is turned on, or is a separate option / feature? I wonder, as this will also be very useful in the future too. Thanks.
Zoom microphone turns the microphone for sound recordings in over a straght line in the direction I would suggest log in that the restructuring was. The normal way of recording gives much better sound quality. I also used my Video Camera in a lot of time and differnet I can honestly say that the reduction of wind characteristics are just gimmicks. You can hardly tell the differnce and you ALWAYS wind noise in your videos unless you use a separate microphone rifle topped with a windsock. (Those big furry things in the micrphones). I unfortunately I can not help with the search function the mine is located on the same page in zoom microphone is. All I'm saying is if you can not find it, do not worry too much, as he said, because not only its Sony can put it there. You'd do better luck with the micro camera cover with a thin layer of sponge to help keep the wind noise, or get a microphone with a wind sock, you can hook into the slot at the top of the camera when the flash can be connected.
