Camcorder Lens Cap
when JVC camcorder is flashing "lid" lights when not. I can not get a picture. What's wrong?
JVC GR-D53 cap blinks when you turn on the camcorder but can not get a picture. Camcorder seems quite the opposite.
This symptom typically indicates a failure in the CCD sensor. This is a fairly common problem with this series of JVC Camcorders. The equivalent of U.S. models are covered by a special guarantee, since the failure was due to a batch of defective products (Sony did) sensors. JVC announces no special guarantee program for U.S. models and although I have no idea if offered elsewhere. The following link shows the models included in the special Security in the U.S..
