3d studio max, how I can get the camera to rotate around a scene?
I have a boat and want to output an avi that turns the camera 360 around the ship. Anyone know how to do this? Also, how I can get it done through the Camera Lens?
Well, MAX has not worked in ages, but most likely will need to create a camera. Then set a keyframe on Frame 1 in position initial camera. Then go to the next frame (who knows .. the frame 80 or so, depends on the speed you want … remember, 30 frames per second if you are working in standard frames per second), the camera move in which you want, set keyframes. Finally, go to the last keyframe, the camera move to end position, set the last keyframe. Max intermediates should find their own. Do not forget to check the point of view through your camera and make sure it points anywhere. You should then be able to play the animation and see how it looks. The camera can also follow a path of movement if you will, but since it's been so long, I'm not sure about the details of that, probably some online tutorials about it. To output your avi, you should be able to just leave … not sure how it's done in MAX these days, but in Maya can render Targas so if you drop a box, you can start from there instead of starting all the way from the beginning. Then you can have your Targas sequence in a program like sequels and import them, then render the final video from there. Hope this helps.
